Weekend in Kaikoura by Alex

In the long weekend, my family and I went to Kaikoura for three full days. We stayed in a house that overlooked the sea and the amazing views. It had four bedrooms, comfy couches, a big kitchen and in one of the bedrooms it had a telescope and binoculars. There were great views of the sea when you looked through the binoculars.

On Saturday, Mum took Bradley and I to the beach. We went in the sea along with  Rossi, our dog.  Bradley and I went wave jumping, and so did Rossi for a little while. Later that day, Dads friend Nev took us out to sea on his small fishing boat to catch some fish. Unfortunately myself, Dad and Bradley didn't catch anything this time, but Nev caught a dogfish and a small blue cod, but the blue cod was undersized so we put it back and we couldn't eat the dogfish. We also saw a police boat from Wellington on patrol (Nev's friend was on board).

The following day we went to the high street and had a look in the shops. It wasn't good weather but most of the time time we were indoors and didn't get wet. When we got back we played board games and card games. We also watched an old western movie called "For a few dollars more" Dad says its a classic. Later we went in Nev's 1976 Mini. P.S Dad is wanting another one, as his first car was a Mini
Sadly it was time to go home, but before we did Dad took Bradley and I to the park.
