Plimmers Ark Investigators part 2

Can we answer some of our questions???
YES!

1. How long was it under the bank before it was rediscovered? - We don't know yet

2. What was it named before it ran aground?    INCONSTANT

3. Did John Plimmer find anything on the Ark when it was discovered? old liquor bottles, plates and jars

4. What was the ship used for?   Light Cargo. It had transported 209 Irish female migrants to Australia before coming to Wellington.

5. Who was the Captain? Captain Patrick Culliton

6. How did it run aground?  It failed to catch the wind and drifted onto the rocks at Pencarrow Head

How long was it stuck on Pencarrow Head for?

Why did the ship come to Wellington?

Why did they build a bank on top of it?

Did anything happen to it when the tsunami hit Wellington after the Earthquake?

How did they recover it? Get it out from under the bank?

How long was it's journey?

What colour/ type of wood etc was it made out of?

Why did they leave it there after the earthquake?

How many crew were on the ship when it was travelling from England to Australia and then to Wellington?

Why did William MacKenzie sell it to John Plimmer?
